how the consumption of raisins could alter your reality..

personally, I have always liked raisins… nature’s candy, sweet and tangy. a healthy treat in a little red box for little snackers, reminds me of my kids when they were small. :-)

however, now that I have been researching all of the nutrients and properties that make make “SUPERFOODS” super, I just have to say “WOW!” when it comes to raisins!

regular consumption of raisins can decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease, as they helps to regulate blood pressure. raisins are low in sodium, and an excellent source of potassium which help to relax the blood vessels.

consuming raisins also improves your good cholesterol, while decreasing the bad cholesterol, as well as preventing the formation of blood clots which is imperative to good heart health.

raisins are anti~bacterial in nature, helping the body fight infection efficiently, helping with prevention of coughs, colds, and fever and other bacterial infections.

raisins help strengthen the immune system as they are rich in vitamin B and C. raisins also contain polyphenolic phytonutrients which are antioxidants that are known for their anti inflammatory benefits, protecting the body from the oxidative effects of free radicals which cause premature aging, and susceptibility to diseases like colon cancer and tumors.

raisins are high in fiber and also have a laxative effect, preventing constipation and detoxifying the system.

raisins have a high level of potassium and magnesium which help balance the body’s PH, reducing harmful acidity decreases toxicity in the blood, which cause further internal health issues.

daily intake of raisins can flush our toxins from the system, improving conditions such as bloating, arthritis, kidney stones and gout. :-O

raisins are rich in calcium and boron, including them in your diet, is known to improve bone density, prevent tooth decay and help whiten your teeth! :-O

raisins can also improves your eye health due to the high content of polyphenolic phytonutrients and beta carotene!

so, in closing, I think that for those who turn up your nose to these wrinkly little brown/black powerhouses… maybe it’s time to rethink the “lowly raisins”…. they might just alter your reality for the better! ;-)
